Here we go again: let's pick on the Haitians!

When I was kid you people said that Haitians were spreading the AIDS virus, now it's the doggies and kitties thing?

Really?

I am almost glad my mom doesn't have to see this. She was a real patriot and she would have been both disgusted and disappointed.

It is always the same strategy: find a population to blame for imagined grievances and whip the cretins up into a fervor so you can gain power for yourselves and justify atrocities.

It doesn't matter if it is the "blood libel" against Jews, anti Islamic propaganda, anti-Asian "yellow peril" rhetoric, the accusation that Latin American immigrants are all criminals and rapists, or the latest, that "Haitians are eating the pets". Also, we must not forget the non-stop anti black racism. 

Shame on you, and also, you sound really stupid and crazy.

Getting back to Haiti in particular, it is true that Haiti is a black country and extremely poor, particularly after the Earthquake, but it wasn't always so. 

I would suggest that some of you try something novel and pick up a book like the "Black Jacobins" or "Avengers of the New World". 

You might learn something, like, for example, that Haiti fought the first and only successful slave revolution in history, and then defeated Napoleon's efforts to retake the colony.

The point is that Haitians have been fighting the racists for centuries.
